Advanced Academic Program

Students are engaged with tools and strategies for high level learning in Language Arts and Mathematics. Development of skills, concepts and habits of mind that are beneficial for future learning and academic success.

Mainstream Program

In the mainstream program, the core academic subjects are delivered through a variety of teaching methods. Students are assigned to flexible learning groups based on their individual learning needs. The learning groups include honors, regular or special needs class settings to meet and challenge the individual needs of all students. Small group reading and writing intervention is offered during regular grade seven and eight language arts classes.

Britannia has District Site Programs for Behavior Assistance, Literacy, and Community Living Skills. Please contact administration for more information in regards to these exceptional programs.

Cogito Program

Cogito is an alternative program within Edmonton Public Schools committed to providing a wide knowledge based program that advances student achievement. The Cogito program believes that a liberal education best serves children. Cogito believes that the basic skills of reading, writing, and mathematics, are expected to be mastered by ALL students. Mastery of basic skills lays the foundation for future learning. Cogito believes students need a strong knowledge base in history.
